Functions of the Assessment and Property Management Unit

  • Responsible for the smooth resolution to all transactions at the Assessment and Property Services Division
  • Mailing and correspondence related to Assessment and Property Services
  • Secretariat for Assessment Tax Appeals meetings of the Tumpat District Council
  • Assess all property holdings within the old and new areas under the Council's purview
  • Identify old and new holdings that have yet to be assessed
  • Implement List of Additional Contribution for  Federal/State Government premises
  • Handle Council assets and all related transactions
  • Monitor building construction for rating purposes
  • Ensure assessment bills/notices are issued and received by premise owners on time, specifically for the January – June and July – December periods
  • Research and analyze details of real estate for the purpose of producing a valuation report
